Receive

Receive, acrylic, 16"x 24"
Receive, to be open to what comes your way.
Too often we are giving, giving so often and so much that we are left empty. We are not taught to receive gifts or compliments. Loosen up your tight grip on what you feel is right or wrong or even polite.
Let yourself receive the rewards or gifts that come your way. There is no shame in doing so. Of course with all gifts there are the Thanks Yous and gratitude's. Learn to be gracious in your receiving and let others have a turn at giving.

100 Slips of Good Intentions....Stop with the lables!!

100 Slips of Good Intentions by Jean Hart

100 Slips of Good Intentions.......

"If you want to grow beyond yourself you must take action in those things that motivate you."
It's so easy to say I don't have time to do something. I say it all the time to myself. I don't want to of course is a whole other issue.
I'm watching the TED Lectures now. I love them. I find them to be interesting and encouraging and inspiring. Many of these people come to be successful because something in their life has changed or ended and they must now make a new direction for themselves.
Defining myself is tough. How do I want to be seen. Both answers have limits I put on myself. Asking others to define me is even worse.
I read many things that say "Believe in yourself". Even that statement confuses me. So this year I have gone on a hunt to see what is it that I do believe. How do I define myself. And sadly to say what labels do I want to be associated with me. "Stop with the labels"......I find it hard to believe that you can define anything without putting a label on it.
Believe. It's a powerful word. Mostly I want to believe  I have choices. I want to also believe that I can make wise choices.
In my recovery I have a lot of down time. I read a lot. So here is an interesting thing that has happened to me. I went to the library and started to browse through children's books.  Yes, even though I have no small children at home any longer, I went to the children's library.
FASCINATING BOOKS!!!
These books are full of adventures, and heroes and really can do people.
Can I really be reading these fun and simple books and be learning life lessons that I must have missed in my adult life???
Believe in fairy tales for what the can teach you about real life. Believe in happy ends. All ends are truly what you think they are, happy or sad, you choose.
Believe in something,  anything that gives you hope and inspiration to keep going.
So even though I'm watching TED Lectures with the most brilliant minds and creative encouragements, I'm reading children's literature so I can come back to believing, I can be strong, healthy, happy and wise.
Happy Reading.

Patience/ Plant
Plant your seeds in fertile ground and then have faith that they will grow.
When you plant your seeds whether they are for the garden or for your life's garden, know that with every seed planted you must have patience. The seeds need time to grow on their own, so when the conditions are right they will sprout and grow in the warmth of the sun. Give the seeds what they need, no more no less. Then let them go. Have faith that whether it is a tomato or an idea, if it is right for you it will flower and grow. Plant, plant, plant. You must plant in order to receive the harvest.

100 Slips of Good Intentions

100 Slips of Good Intentions,

"People will repeat what they think they heard"......
Oh, yes they will. If you ever have to start a conversation with,"Don't tell anyone..." than you should think about not telling anyone yourself.

Twin Wishes, Acrylic, by Jean Hart
As much as you would like to reveal yourself to the world. Be just a little shy. Revealing too much too soon is risky. Reveal only as much of the story as you are comfortable having the whole world to know. For as much as you wish people could keep your secrets, they don't.
Let your life reveal your truth, let your actions speak loudly and Reveal no secrets you were asked to keep.

That's what journals are for:

Those wonderful secrets that lay deep in my hearts, or those desires and dreams that have not yet come to light.

I start every journal with the first page I write.
"I must have died and passed on to the next life. If I haven't. You are trespassing into my inner most thoughts and I'm owe no one apologies for anything written here that might upset or hurt anyone's feelings"
You have a right to your feelings, your words, whether they are kind and loving or painful. These pages are moments in time when you are at your most authentic. I need that, and I need to know that I don't have to explain them to anyone. They are true to me at that time.
Journaling has helped me work out projects in my life, in creativity, in my space and health. Often I have reread them and felt they were truly a gift to myself.
Out of chaos digital art by Jean Hart
There are other times when I write with such force and determination and in need of help or guidance. When I write about things that may just be too strong. I will burn these pages and offer them up to the heavens for help. This secures me that I can be as honest and open in my writing and have no fear that someone will come along and read these pages. This too is necessary sometimes.
Reveal yourself to yourself. Be open and honest and forgiving.
Then Release It.

365 ways to energize your life

365 ways to energize your life......

My Chinese reading said that I would be in the new life transformation from now until 2023!!!! I can look forward to many shifts and changes and challenges!!!!! Transformation does not happen quickly I'm guessing, or maybe I'm just a little stubborn.
My project for this week is to make a collage or artwork, pictures and paintings and  words and anything that I would like to see and embrace for this year.
Those that have worked with me in workshops and art classes know I do not like collages. They overlaps images and confuse my minds eye, they truly make me dizzy. But for the sake of staying on track I will not skip important lessons.
This project as I understand is not about the images so much as about the words. I am creating a "word for the year" it is to be my "sacred word for 2012"
This is your power word, a visual affirmation of what you'd like to experience this year. It's the focus of your energy for 2012. Place this poster somewhere in your home where you will see it everyday and can meditate on the images and words for a short while each day.
I have bought a poster board of only 8" x 10. I figure for me that's enough space to fill with drawing, images, words and doodles. I'm thinking this is where that alphabet list comes in again. :-))
My word is Cycle.
Happy Creating.

Butterfly Effect, Mail Ait Project

Butterfly Effect

Postcard, Three
mixed med.

The Butterfly Effect, simply put. Everything you do effects everyone.
That's it.
Think about how many people have effected your life. Do you not think that what you do is not just as influential?
.. They say when a butterfly flaps her wings it is felt across the oceans.
Yes, that's huge.
Along with effectiveness comes the responsibility of Receptivity.
This life force is not assertive but more of a timely effect. A quiet contribution is more successful.

100 slips of good intentions

100 slips of Good Intentions by Jean Hart
100 slips of Good Intentions ......."Guidance and answers are all around you, just be aware."

Yes, I feel this is true. Have you ever been wondering around thinking about something and someone tells you, "I 've been thinking about that too."
Just last week Kerry and I were traveling around the back roads and we took a road that was unmarked. He said, "I'm not sure if this is the right road, but I want to get over there." Sure enough, a little while later we came to the sign and it was the road he wanted. Kerry says to me, " I sure like being in your Universe."
Ha, Ha, Ha....it's the Universe I have lived in my whole life. It's the Universe of asking, being grateful, and saying Thank You. You see, I believe you can have what you want. Maybe not when you ask, but it will come. Sometimes mountains have to be moved and people shifted to come to you so you get what you want.
So am I lucky or just more aware?

Pink Saturday

Welcome to Pink Saturday,

This is where we come together to celebrate Breast Cancer. Anyone who has gone through it, survived it or have had it touch their life's.

Reach...
Reach a little farther inside yourself each day. Try to find the innermost belief, your innate intelligence. Reach for the stars, sometimes you are spot on and sometimes you hit the moon. Reach out and  ask for help, yes, you would be surprise who will show up. Reach over and help others, women, men and children, especially when you are in need. Continue one foot in front of the other, even if you think you will never reach your dreams, stay in the moment and enjoy the walk about. When you think you've come to the end of one dream, reach out and start your trip on a new journey. Life has many beginnings and ends, just keep going. Life is hard, life is fair, life just is whatever you say it is......

Mail Art Project, Today and Tomorrw

Mail Art Project....
Today and Tomorrow
International Mail Art Exhibition in Bad Aibling (near Munich), Germany
To view this online catalogue exhibit visit,

Welcome, These are my entries for this exhibit. I'm not sure how many postcards I will paint, but there is no limit, and it is open from now until Oct. I am working with many subjects and ideas that interest me to create something meaningful for the refection of Today and Tomorrow. These are original artworks of mine drawn freehand. I have cut watercolor paper to be the correct size of a postcard.
This first postcard is called
Today and Tomorrow,
color pencil,
As I stand in today present in my life. I look forward to Tomorrow with an open heart and a welcoming wave. I see the future as being bright and beautiful. In my heart and mind I know that you get out of life  what you  project  into the world

2nd Postcard
The Beginning of Time
Mixed Med.
In the beginning there is imagination, inspiration and energy. All of  this energy coming together to create a life force. Living in today and in the present moment puts your goals in alignment with success for tomorrow. This postcard represents the beginning of time when you understand that you must,  " Believe in your dreams and persevere, and everything around you will flourish" . Good timing is often more important then just being present though. Look at the whole picture to understand where you can be of service because working together is more powerful then working alone.

365 Days of living

365 Days of Living.......
Winter has returned just in time to still say its winter....Tomorrow is the first day of Spring~!~! But looking around my house all I see is snow.
Once when I was feeling really snowed in and depressed because winter was lasting much too long, I decided I needed to embrace the snow. So I went outside and made a snow labyrinth. This really was fun to do and  I challenge you to do something creative with the snow in your yard too. I don't see it melting away before spring gets here.
Winter can last until April where I live. Its a time for reading. Its a time to stimulate your brain. I like to check out new magazines that I don't usually read. Just so I don't become bored with the usually ideas.
Here's a magazine I picked up last week, "The Mental Floss, Where knowledge junkies get their fix". Well how could I resist!!! or you can go to mental floss.com for their online magazine.
One of the article's I will share is about Hallmarks best selling Mother's Day Card....this card has been a best seller since 1939!!!
Being an artists who turns her canvas artwork into note cards, I found this interesting. What are people buying and buying and buying for over 50 years???
It's the Pansy Card. A sweet little cart filled with pansy's, with a note that reads, "To Let You Know I'm Thinking Of You". What's on the inside , "Pansies always stand for thoughts-at least that's what folks say. So this just comes to show my thoughts are there with you today."
SWEET, SWEET, SWEET.
You can bet I will be painting pansies some time soon.
I would never have known this if I didn't pick up a unfamiliar magazine.
"Stimulate your brain. Don't allow  yourself to become bored with life."
this from the little book of 365 ways to energize your life.

100 slips of good intentions

If ever there was a time that I needed inspiration it is today. We came back from a week in Las Vegas to watch NACAS. Which was a great time but too much walking for me. My 10 min walks a couple of times a day did not prepare me for the intensive hours of walking around. Too much walking and stairs. My knees hemorrhaged and bursed and the muscles are sprained. So for this week I must stay off my feet, ice and bandage. I'm alittle mad about it. I need to get stronger, physically, mentally and probably emotionally too. I'm feeling very fragile right now and it feels like my body is going backwards. So today is a good day for inspiration.
100 slips of intentions by Jean Hart
"Trust In Yourself"
Very good and timely.
Trust that my body is healing, trust that I can understand and accept my limits, trust that everything will be okay because I'm putting in the time and energy. Trust that I'm, in the right place and the right time doing the right thing.
Trust. That's a huge lesson all by its self. I will think about this this week. My future health relies on my trusting many people other than myself, doctors, test result, my body, me......my  intuition, reactions.
Trust in yourself to make the right decisions. The answers are inside you.

365 Days of living

March.
....will it come in like a lamb or lion?
Watching the weather channel it sure seems to be a LION.
Already three months into the new year....I have yet to get 2012 correct on my checks!
Thinking about the many lists I have been making lately, my 100 things to do is up to about 15, and I've crossed off three things. It's not as easy as you think!!!
So again I have started a new list that's kinda a sub list if you will of the big list....
the new lists look a little like this:
WHAT IS IT I'D LIKE TO LEARN IN 2012?
AND
WHAT TEACHERS AND MENTORS WOULD I LIKE TO INVITE INTO MY LIFE?
AND
WHAT INSPIRING AND BALANCED, CENTERED AND NOURISHING HABITS WOULD I LIKE TO CREATE THIS YEAR? (different then the 28 days of breaking bad habits)
This will keep me busy for awhile.
Already I am learning French.
Le bon jour mes amis, mai vous dépensez cette semaine reseaching vous et apprécier le voyage et l'aventure qui est avant posé que vous. Suivre votre félicité
Good day my friends,

May you spend this week reseaching yourself and enjoying the journey and adventure that is laid before you.

March
We are so close to Spring Equinox, March 20th.
March was named after Mars, the god of war. In the Julian calendar, this month included New Year's Day, March 25th, when annual leases for homes and farms were signed. The beginning of the new year was moved to January later on, when the Gregorian calendar was instituted.

Leap Day, Not Just Another Day

Happy Leap Year!!!!!! An Extra Day all day long......
I just want to celebrate another day of living......isn't there a song like that,....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-cZiu8osE8&feature=related

Yes that will keep me tapping all through the day.......this very cold, windy, snowy day.
Life is for living, and to celebrate I have flowers for all of you,
They're wild flowers, for you should let your spirit run just a little wild today.
Today you should eat yummy treats.....forget that diet, forget the scale and forget all the I shouldn't, I can't, I wouldn't, blah, blah, blah.
Just one bit then.......
Go fishing, take the day off.......don't tell anyone I said that.....but truly go outside, feel the wind, the sun, the rain....even the snow.
If there's lots of snow make a snow labyrinth.

Did you know...that according to folklore, Women get to propose marriage on this day, but, of course, nowadays ladies can propose all year if they want to. .....Lady's if your wanting to get married to that special one, it's okay to ask today......but I warn you, that first anniversary is a long wait.......if you marry on a leap year.
Have fun with this day, enjoy it, and be spontaneous.

Them Eyes, Them Eyes, Them Beautiful Eyes!!!
they have it in every way...

Your eyes need water, lubricant, and tears. Without it you develop "Dry Eye"...The on going health transformation continues and now my tear ducts and other ducts have stopped working....I'm on drops for about ...a month and I'm told in 4 wks I will be back to normal!!!

So I'm really thinking, what's it like not to see......It's pretty scary!!! Of course, I'm old enough and have seen enough that if you were to describe something with words I could imagine it. ....But I don't want to have imagine. So faithfully I put in my two different drops in my eyes 4 times a day.....Can you see what I see? Gratitude.
It's been a month and today I'm off to the Docs for my Check up.

I have been fascinated with pictures of eyes and poem of seeing clearly. Here is a poem I found by Wordsmith's forge Poem. "Seeing Clearly"

Seeing Clearly

That which is perceived but not seen
remains every bit as real.
It is the wind made visible,
the sound transformed to the sight.
Colors gallivant like ghosts
through a spectrum sensed yet unseen.
It is something intended for divine eyes,
somehow strayed within range of mortal souls.
The tint of the aura is known to the wise,
yet its light may not answer to wavelength.
The clear lines are not colored in
but they define the boundaries all the same.
The meanings are mystical but not mysterious;
the symbolism of the aura is understood.
Each hue has its own ephemeral footprint
just waiting for a watchful eye to follow in its wake.

I wish for everyone to see clearly,
When I see clearly, I recognize that my world is
an imagined world of spirit, and that all the things that are possible, kind, and imaginable can
happen if you learn to be an active part of all your decision.  While the
eternal part of myself will go on, it will always come down to how I react to what happens in my life. I choose not to be afraid, but to keep the steps moving forward.

New Moon Phases

Moon Phases,
February 21, 22:35
New Moon

This year I have been paying a lot more attention to the phases of the "Moon".
The moon is very famine, if you pay attention to its cycles you will notice that a women's body naturally harmonizes with the phases of the moon.
There is a lot to know about the moon and its phases but I will only share the little I know with you here. I celebrate each phase and love the energy I get from seeing it glow down on to me.
New Moon:" In astronomy the new moon begins with the dark of the moon, the sky being moonless for about three days before the new moon is actually visible. This is the time for deep inner reflection and introspection. It is the time to be still and listen to your inner voice. Then, as the visible new moon approaches, it is the time plant new seeds for new ideas and new projects. It is the time of birth and renewal. This is a great time to visualize your life for the next moon cycle and focus on a energy that will see you through the month. During this time, rest, be still, and meditate. Feel that deepest and most internal movement of your inner self. In this stillness, allow the seed of the coming weeks to be planted in you." Denise Linn
For me this is a great time of meditation. I think of the things I would like to accomplish in the next few weeks. Planting seeds, to me, means making wishes. On the New Moon, I make three wishes. I hold them close to me but start formalizing a plan of action. Because I believe wishes and dreams only work when you partake in their success.

So tonight before I go to lay my head down for the night, I will go outside to see the New Moon, give thanks for its coming to shine its light on me and make my three wishes.

I'm an Artist and I make Books

Welcome all my Pink Saturday Friends,

Taking risks, taking any kind of risk is risky!!! Why is it so hard to step out and take risks. I think it has something to do with the opinion of others. So I'm learning this year to jump out and take a few risks. What's on my risky list....I'm planning to take an "Intuitive" painting class. What is that? Best as I can tell its gonna be wild...fun... and very brave!
It's painting without a preconceived idea. Give yourself an emotion, idea, theme and just start painting. Of course there is no right or wrong way to do this and I'm guessing this work is gonna be very free flowing and abstract. But, I love art and I love creating art, any and all art so I'm going for it. So sometimes doing the hardest thing on earth is to act and think for yourself this little class I hope will let me express myself in my own way.
I'm an Artist and I love to make Books.

Jean with her book "12 Day's of Christmas"
I love art, all kinds of art and I love writing words to go with my artwork. I now have three books. My latest book, "Imagine, Dreams Do Come True" has just been printed. I use a company online to print my books. They are not sold in stores, but if you would like one I will order one for you, sign it and package it up and send it to you. Contact me at jhartart@yahoo.com

My first book, "Artwork From My Heart", is original artwork with poems. It had it's debut at the Northeastern Nevada Museum with the Silver Stage Player reciting the poems on their circular stage.

Imagine, Dreams Do Come True
Story and paintings by Jean Hart
This is my Newest Book
The paintings are of strong, empowered women. It's a life journey through word and verse.
For the Month of February, if you leave a comment on my blog your name will go into the treasure box to win a copy of this book.
