Jean Hart Newsletter August

Hart Artwork Newsletter

August 2010

Hello

I think August is the best month of the year.

It's a time when we reflect on what's happened since January.

We look back at that goals list we made and are thankful the year is not yet over, there is still time to cross

something off that outrageous list we made for ourselves.

With salt in our hair and our feet in the sand there is still to time to enjoy summer!!!

Congratulations to Steve and Sarah!

Their wedding was beautiful.

Sarah's father drove her to the Spring Creek Marina in a white Cadillac and escorted her down the isle.

It was breathtaking.

The weather was hot but with a nice breeze on the dock we all made it through.

The reception was enchanting as well. With little white lights on the dance floor

we all danced until the clock struck midnight..

Matthew took his first flight lesson and that was pretty exciting as well.

He will soon be in the sky flying around regularly.

Art, Art is everywhere come to the Elko County Fair and see it there!!

August is the month I start painting for the Elko County Fair.

About ten years ago I started to enter my paintings in the fine art division at the fair.

It is where I enter my experimental artwork, my most creative pieces are entered there.

Why? Because I feel it is where it is judge most fairly.

More people have seen my artwork at the fair then anywhere else.

This year is no different for me. I will have something to exhibit

and I invite all of you to come to the fair to see it there.!!

Most of you know I am from Southern California.

For the first eighteen years of my life everyday of summer was spent on the beaches

of Santa Monica, Roy Rogers, Zooma or Malibu.

I love the ocean and all that lives in its waters.

I painted a painting titled "Sail Away" now being exhibited at the Northeastern Nevada Museum.

I painted this painting of sea turtles because it is my hope someday when I retire to go

help the sea turtles make their way back to the ocean from the shore.

They are a tribute to survival, strength, and courage.

I hope you get a chance to see the painting.

My August Artist Choice

is Guy Harvey

I had the pleasure of meeting Guy when I was in Long Beach working at the

Fred Hall Fish and Tackle Show http://www.fredhall.com/ last year.

If you are a lover of the ocean than you will love his artwork and if you are a fine art collector of works from the sea,

than your collection would not be complete without one of his paintings.

It is my pleasure to introduce Guy Harvey to you. Please enjoy.

Try to stay above the tree top and keep it straight and level,

Enjoy the summer,
