Spring to life, Name Plant

Spring is here!!! or at least it says so on my calendar.
I love that the days are longer, the sun stays up past 6pm and my mail box is filled with planting magazines. I've chosen lots of flowers to plant this year and one olive tree will be planted in the front yard. Olive Trees represents peace.  I wanted to plant cherry trees because I'm all about France right now. You know cherry trees in Pairs in Spring, the most romantic place in the whole world. But unfortunately the only cherry tree that grows in my zone is the choke cherry. The birds would love it but I hear they are messy.....

Name Plant, Jean

As the journey I take this year steps me into a new season, I too have changed. Today I will be doing an art project that is about my name. It's really a simply little project I learned long ago in grade school. As I have grown I have come back to this project yearly, because truly it represent who I am and it changes every time I do it.
Start with a folded piece of paper, write you name in cursive on the folded edge, if a letter goes below the fold drop it, turn it over and using the light of a window trace the letters on the blank side. Unfold the paper and your name appears like a mirror image. Trace it onto a larger piece of paper or canvas and draw in a pot from which your name grows. Add symbols that are important to you, color with with colors that reflect you. In a wonderful piece of artwork you can see who you are.
Write your name of the rim of the pot, place a statement or poem on the face of the pot. It's unlimited what you can do to decorate this name image of who you are.

365 Days of living

March.
....will it come in like a lamb or lion?
Watching the weather channel it sure seems to be a LION.
Already three months into the new year....I have yet to get 2012 correct on my checks!
Thinking about the many lists I have been making lately, my 100 things to do is up to about 15, and I've crossed off three things. It's not as easy as you think!!!
So again I have started a new list that's kinda a sub list if you will of the big list....
the new lists look a little like this:
WHAT IS IT I'D LIKE TO LEARN IN 2012?
AND
WHAT TEACHERS AND MENTORS WOULD I LIKE TO INVITE INTO MY LIFE?
AND
WHAT INSPIRING AND BALANCED, CENTERED AND NOURISHING HABITS WOULD I LIKE TO CREATE THIS YEAR? (different then the 28 days of breaking bad habits)
This will keep me busy for awhile.
Already I am learning French.
Le bon jour mes amis, mai vous dépensez cette semaine reseaching vous et apprécier le voyage et l'aventure qui est avant posé que vous. Suivre votre félicité
Good day my friends,

May you spend this week reseaching yourself and enjoying the journey and adventure that is laid before you.
Follow your bliss

Them Eyes, Them Eyes, Them Beautiful Eyes!!!
they have it in every way...

Your eyes need water, lubricant, and tears. Without it you develop "Dry Eye"...The on going health transformation continues and now my tear ducts and other ducts have stopped working....I'm on drops for about ...a month and I'm told in 4 wks I will be back to normal!!!

So I'm really thinking, what's it like not to see......It's pretty scary!!! Of course, I'm old enough and have seen enough that if you were to describe something with words I could imagine it. ....But I don't want to have imagine. So faithfully I put in my two different drops in my eyes 4 times a day.....Can you see what I see? Gratitude.
It's been a month and today I'm off to the Docs for my Check up.

I have been fascinated with pictures of eyes and poem of seeing clearly. Here is a poem I found by Wordsmith's forge Poem. "Seeing Clearly"

Seeing Clearly

That which is perceived but not seen
remains every bit as real.
It is the wind made visible,
the sound transformed to the sight.
Colors gallivant like ghosts
through a spectrum sensed yet unseen.
It is something intended for divine eyes,
somehow strayed within range of mortal souls.
The tint of the aura is known to the wise,
yet its light may not answer to wavelength.
The clear lines are not colored in
but they define the boundaries all the same.
The meanings are mystical but not mysterious;
the symbolism of the aura is understood.
Each hue has its own ephemeral footprint
just waiting for a watchful eye to follow in its wake.

I wish for everyone to see clearly,
When I see clearly, I recognize that my world is
an imagined world of spirit, and that all the things that are possible, kind, and imaginable can
happen if you learn to be an active part of all your decision.  While the
eternal part of myself will go on, it will always come down to how I react to what happens in my life. I choose not to be afraid, but to keep the steps moving forward.

TWELVE THINGS I WANT TO CELEBRATE AND CHERISH ABOUT MYSELF THIS YEAR.
This project really is about you, researching things about you that you really like.
Starting with uploading a picture of yourself. I turned 56 years old this year. Not bad considering I almost did not make it. So here is my sign, my validation that I made it to 56!!
The second thing you will have to choose after you upload the picture, chose a font that you truly like to write this list with.
3. Write out 12 things that you really, honestly, truly want to celebrate about yourself.
This is not a list of things you want to change about yourself, or even a list of things you are working on about yourself. These are the things you say about yourself with humble pride.
I say 12 for 12 months of the year. We are researching ourselves, it could be that you haven't realized some of the wonderful traits you have yet. Leave room for growth, and recognition.
When I started this list, I was alittle set back and did not know what it was that I liked about me without sounding conceded. So I started with the Alphabet and created a "Alphabet from the Hart" . Trust me I'm not all these things but the exercise loosened up my imagination so I could see myself better.

Alphabet from the Hart

Appreciate what you have. Be yourself. Create your own life. Dream big. Embrace life. Friendships are golden. Give thanks often. Help others. Imagine. Jump for joy. Know yourself. Love with all your heart. Meditate often. Never say never. Open your mind to new ideas. have Patience. Quietly sit still. Relax and breath deeply. Seize the day.  Trust the universe. Value your family. Wish on a fallen star. be Xtraodenary. Yearn for something better and have a zest for life.

Find new words that describe you, have fun with this.

100 slips of good intentions

100 Slips of Good Intentions
"I've learned that the greatest challenge of life is to decide what's important and to disregard everything else."
anonymous

Life's wonderful lessons,......be grateful they do not end. Someone once asked me, "When do I get to the point when I stop learning lessons?"....You can just imagine what my answer was to that......"At the end of the trail, I imagine."
Everyones always searching for the big day, answer, gift, break, etc.....When really the secret to life, the one you are living now is so easy. Of course, that may be the problem. Stop resisting!!! Isn't it wonderful how you don't have to tell the sun to come up, or the birds to sing or now really stay with me here, tell your heart to beat!!!  Your brain takes care of that for you.  Don't you think its time to go with the flow, ride the tide, seat back and take a deep breath. Take time to research yourself and find out what you truly like to do.
What is your bliss? No, not a simple question, I know. But this year. While I have more time on my hands then usual, my bliss is experimenting with different art techniques.
I call them my healing painting. They have nothing to do with commissions, or exhibits, or even trying to display and sell them.......MY BLISS....IS TO CREATE.

New Moon Phases

Moon Phases,
February 21, 22:35
New Moon

This year I have been paying a lot more attention to the phases of the "Moon".
The moon is very famine, if you pay attention to its cycles you will notice that a women's body naturally harmonizes with the phases of the moon.
There is a lot to know about the moon and its phases but I will only share the little I know with you here. I celebrate each phase and love the energy I get from seeing it glow down on to me.
New Moon:" In astronomy the new moon begins with the dark of the moon, the sky being moonless for about three days before the new moon is actually visible. This is the time for deep inner reflection and introspection. It is the time to be still and listen to your inner voice. Then, as the visible new moon approaches, it is the time plant new seeds for new ideas and new projects. It is the time of birth and renewal. This is a great time to visualize your life for the next moon cycle and focus on a energy that will see you through the month. During this time, rest, be still, and meditate. Feel that deepest and most internal movement of your inner self. In this stillness, allow the seed of the coming weeks to be planted in you." Denise Linn
For me this is a great time of meditation. I think of the things I would like to accomplish in the next few weeks. Planting seeds, to me, means making wishes. On the New Moon, I make three wishes. I hold them close to me but start formalizing a plan of action. Because I believe wishes and dreams only work when you partake in their success.

So tonight before I go to lay my head down for the night, I will go outside to see the New Moon, give thanks for its coming to shine its light on me and make my three wishes.

1 Day to Valentine's Day

        1 Day to Valentine's Day.....

Other Than You
by Girly

If I could have just one wish,
I would wish to wake up everyday
to the sound of your breath on my neck,
the warmth of your lips on my cheek,
the touch of your fingers on my skin,
and the feel of your heart beating with mine...
Knowing that I could never find that feeling
with anyone other than you.

To Be In The Arms of Love
by Jean Hart
I have been taken,
numbed, dumbed an stunned
into the arms of love,
Would you kindly turn yourself
inside out and twist
your heart just so
to be in the arms of love,
If you would, could you please
remove all logical thought
and expose yourself emotionally
to be in the arms of love.
Buckle up for the ride of love is intense.
You have no idea how steely
 you must be
to be in the arms of love.

Love Fortune Cookie,
This is the one, the last one. Let it be the best one of the bunch.
"True happiness is holding the hand of the one you hold dear."
Aha, again how very true it is.
Many blessing to you,
may your heart hold love, joy and good fortune.

Walking the Labyrinth

First Prebsyterian Church of Twin Falls

Walking the Labyrinth
This week Kerry and I walked a Labyrinth in the First Presbyterian Church of Twin Falls.
This is one of the many things on my list I want to do this year. It is my goal to find and walk on as many Labyrinth's as I can. I am on a spiritual journey this year. Having almost died this year by heart failure after my knee surgery my body has been under internal stress. I say that I am rebuilding a body since each month some part of my body has shut down, spine, lungs, ears, eyes etc..... But each time I have been able to recover. I am told it's a two year process.
So as I continue with my health journey, my spiritual journey has become a strong yearning.

There is no right way to walk the labyrinth. You only have to enter and follow the path. Your walk can encompass a variety of attitudes. It may be joyous, thoughtful, prayerful or you may use it as a walking meditation.
Some general guidelines for your walk.:
Focus, pause and wait at the entrance. Become quiet and centered. Enter.
Experience: Walk purposeful. Observe the process. When you reach the center, stay there and focus for a few moments. Leave when it seems appropriate. Be attentive as you retrace the path in exiting.
Exit: Turn and face the entrance. Acknowledge the ending with a bow or an "Amen".
Reflect: After walking the labyrinth, reflect back on your experience. Some find journaling or drawing as a way to capture the experience.
Walk Often.
This was truly a pleasant experience. Kerry enjoyed the meditation as well and told me later that he would like to build a labyrinth in our yard around the olive tree we are planning to plant the summer.

8 day to Valentines Day

8 Days to Valentines Day
Love Fortune Cookie;
"One who loves much, gains much."
Aha, one sentence says soo much. Don' you think?
I have always believed that you must not hold back, give 120% because if things don't work out, as sometimes they don't, you can honestly say to yourself you did all you could and you have no regrets. Have none of this, if only I had done this or that......Live your heart.  Live your life, and I now like to say Live your imagination!!!

9 Days to Valentines Day
I've been shopping this week end and boy did I find some cutie cute stuff for the big day.
Here are my flowers for the week. We work so much it seems that sometimes when holidays are on week days special days get pushed aside. Plan, plan and plan and don't leave them to chance.
I have marked my calendar to shop Tues morning for fresh flowers.

There's no place like home

There's no place like home..There's no place like home..There's not place.  Now click your heals three times....
I do love to travel and now that I am officially an "Empty Nester" I find that Kerry and I like to pack our bags and hit the road more and more. Last week we spent 8 days touring southeastern Idaho. It is beautiful open land albe winter probably is not the time to see it. Most of it was under snow..
Here's the thing. When you travel you are not always on your feet sight seeing and looking at great museums and eating at fancy restaurants. My trips with Kerry are not that way. He is a geologist, so most of the time we are on dirt roads not even marked on the map, in the middle of nowhere. When you travel with a photographer and writer, there is a lot of down time. We wait for the right light, we wait for the birds, the sunsets, the sunrise's. We come back to the hotel and he writes about what we saw and critiques his photos...What am I to do during these many hours left alone???
So here we go again, another list.
"The list of things to do when left solo".
I have to be able to occupy myself during this time. This will work even if your not traveling. Sometimes days just get long and everyone else is busy doing their own thing.
Our feelings change from excitement to boredom in a second and this list will keep you calm and focused while you need to be silent or solo for awhile.
Things I do when I'm Solo.
1. Order a Movie New short film. check it out.
http://www.nyvs.com/user/MHart/watch/video/an-american-heritage

2. Take a Shower
3. Play Backgammon on the computer, really fun for me.
4. Read a book
5. Draw a mandala, this can take an hour
6. Sit in the sun
7. Take a nap
8. Do my nails and toes
9. Do a meditation tape
10. Go for a walk.
Boredom can bring on chronic fatigue.
So be prepared have a list of things to do if you find you have time and are restless.

A new year a new way

Bath Therapy

One of the nicest gifts I received this year was from my sister. She sent me scented soaps. Her favorite is the pure olive oil bar. Natural Tuscan Bar Soap created with an ancient recipe in the old boiled process using pure olive oil known to have anti aging, anti oxidant properties.
With this new year 2012, I'm sharing a new book with you. Its "365 ways to Energize mind, body and soul" by Stephanie Tourles.
This year I will be sharing with you her many ideas to help you restore your spirit, and revitalize your "zest for life, your happiness, your wholeness, and your physical stamina."
Her first day we start with BATH THERAPY...
I suggest you find some beautiful soaps, great smelling candles and Pour a glass of champagne, or your own favorite drink and closed the door.
This is your time make it special....don't forget the music......
A luxuriant bath, is the ultimate way to boost your circulation and balance your energy flows. Because water is all about flowing, and restoring.
I would add just one more thing to this, deep breathing, and a positive affirmation. One that you make up for yourself is best or take one you have heard that really sits well with you.
Personally I like this one,
"Imagine a woman who believes is is right and good she is woman. A woman who honors her experience and tells her stories. Who refuses to carry the guilt of others with her body and life." this is from Patricia Reilly's poem, Imagine a woman in Love with herself."
Enjoy,
